Instruction Methodology

Functional Creativity

You’re never too old to get creative and never too young to expand your imagination. Many people believe that creativity is a talent, something you are born with rather than a skill that can be learned and refined. Myths about what it means to be creative are dispelled and participants are given practical exercises that can be used to enhance lateral or divergent thinking.

Participants will learn how to:

  • Understand the role of culture and environment in encouraging or stifling creativity

  • Use daily exercises to help stay creative and get inspired
  • Brainstorm effectively as an individual or as a group
  • Practice the use of visuals to support idea development

Every problem is an opportunity for an innovative solution. Participants will learn critical thinking skills that will allow them to assess, address and take action to solve problems using design thinking. They will learn how to solve problems as a team or as an individual.
